Hooray for Friday!! It's been an amazingly beautiful week here in WV and
it feels like spring is finally here. We're expecting a bit of rain
tomorrow, but it's still going to be warm, so I'll take it! I'm linking
up with Five on Friday again this week. Here we go!
Tonight is DATE NIGHT!! Actually it's double-date night with my sister and her husband. We're going to Fujiyama, our absolute favorite. I can't wait to have a great dinner and lots of good conversation and laughter with my favorite people. And here's a bit of info if you're reading here for the first time - my sister and I actually married brothers. I pushed and pushed and FINALLY the two of them ended up together. One big happy family, we are!
I am in serious need of new sandals for spring/summer. Are Toms comfortable? I have these in my Nordstrom shopping cart to try. If they work out, I'd like to get them in different colors.
We're headed to the beach the end of next month. I've been looking for a new bathing suit and found this one on Swimsuits for All. I so wish I was brave enough to wear a bikini. I might order it just to have on stand by. I usually stick with a flowy top tankini, but I really love this suit.
I love a good mystery movie. Lately I've been watching the Garage Sale Mystery movies on Hallmark Movie & Mystery Channel. They are so good and interesting without being too scary. I have all of them on the DVR so I can watch on Friday evenings after Landon is in bed. Just add popcorn and some Pepsi.
"Jennifer Shannon (Lori Loughlin) can always find a diamond in the rough - when it comes to garage sales, that is! Whether it’s a new antique to sell at her consignment shop, an Atari game for her son or a piece of furniture for her handy husband Jason (Rick Ravanello) to refurbish, she has made a career out of her treasure hunting prowess. But, when a string of burglaries hits her town, Jennifer must use her keen eye for detail and her natural problem solving instincts to help her piece together the clues and catch the criminal, before it's to late!"
Now, I realize everyone may not be as excited over this as I am, but...The Little House on the Prairie series by Laura Ingalls Wilder is now available for Kindle. I have LOVED these books ever since my mom got me the complete set for Christmas so many years ago. My set is old, weathered and has loose pages tucked inside many of the books. I keep them safe on a high shelf of our bookcase and usually read from a newer set my sister got me. I'm a big Kindle reader, so having these in an e-format is definitely exciting.
That's all I have for today. Be sure to stop by next week. I'll be talking about Easter baskets and sharing my favorite Easter recipes, including a yummy new twist on the Strawberry Pretzel Dessert.
Hi!! Nice to 'meet you'!! I actually showed my twins (5 year old) Little House on the Prairie the other day and they liked it! I need to find it more often and show them! Oh, the simple life!! Good luck on your double date! Would love to chat more with you! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletea double date sounds SO fun! Kelly
ReplyDeleteI loved those books growing up!
ReplyDeleteHi...I don't blog, but have been reading Kelly's Korner for almost all of her ten years. I clicked on your blog because of the name, wondering if Hillbilly referred to WV. Although I've been "gone" for many years, I grew up in Greenbrier County and enjoy reading about anything WV.
