My Makeup Bag

I'm linking up at Kelly's Korner today to talk about favorite beauty products. I don't wear a lot of makeup and like a natural, fresh look. Back in my high school days, I experimented with every brand of makeup K-Mart sold - Cover Girl, Maybelline...and then Debbie Gibson started promoting Natural Wonder. Fun days. I still love the smell of Cover Girl and Noxzema. Great - now I'm singing Cherish... Talk about an 80's flashback.

My makeup of choice now is Lancome.  I wear the mineral powder for my base year round.  If I need more coverage in the winter time, I'll use the heavier base - Oscillation Powder Foundation. Mike purchased it for me by mistake but I actually like it (but not the battery-operated brush). It's perfect for occasions that call for a super-polished look. I use a little brush I got from an infomercial for Naked Minerals years ago and I protect that brush like crazy. I LOVE this brush. It's truly amazing! My favorite lipstick is Couture Pink by Mary Kay. It's been discontinued but I can always find it on eBay.  It's a great shade of pink with just a hint of sparkle. When It's gone, I'm not sure what I'll do. I top it off with a shimmery Mary Kay lip gloss for special occasions {like a trip to Starbucks or quiet time with just me and a magazine}. I use Clinique Blush - I think the shade is clover. It's a cross between pink and peach without being too much of either. I never buy mascara. I time my twice yearly Lancome purchases with the free bonus gifts, and the sample mascaras cannot be beat.  I don't wear a lot of eyeshadow but think I just might need to purchase the Naked palette from Urban Decay. I love the natural colors.
