I love that song. Do you remember it from Porgy & Bess? I actually sing it to Landon as a lullaby pretty often. One night he popped up and said "Hey, my daddy not rich". He's so funny. And at least he didn't say I'm not good-looking.
I'm looking forward to kicking off the summer next weekend. Lazy days, lemonade, watermelon, flip flops, little glass bottles of Coke, the beach, swimming, picnics... Yep, we are ready for summer!
I ordered this Octopus sprinkler from PBK for Landon this morning. It was on sale for $40 yesterday, but today it's marked down to just $34.90. All the other sprinklers are on sale too and probably won't last long. I also got him two cute tumblers to drink from. We've been working on getting the house pretty and festive with all my patriotic decorations. We're having so much fun.

ReplyDeleteI *WISH* that I was looking forward to summer, but it's already hit the 100's here and the boys' last day of school is next week. I'm trying to make a list of fun indoor things we can do. We go to my brother's house to hang out in his pool in the evenings after it cools off a little (I have an auto immune disease that makes me sick if I'm in the sun for more than 10 or 15 minutes), but I need to come up with fun stuff for the hours between breakfast and swim time, so we don't get stuck watching cartoons and eating junk food all summer. (Like we did last summer. Ugh.)
Ugh...100 degrees is NOT fun. I don't tolerate heat well at all. And that's my big thing too - I don't want Landon in front of the TV all summer. But I am planning on giving him chocolate cake for breakfast soon. LOL I have been craving chocolate cake ever since you posted that. :)
